28.02.10 Turbines U12's Dominate Burnley U12's
The West Craven Turbines Under 12 team traveled away to Burnley to partake in their first ever game. It was a game that has been widely anticipated by the young Turbines who came out strong if a little bit nervous at the start of the game. Once the first couple of scores came the team began to settle into a good rhythm which saw them end the 1st qtr leading 2-6. The Turbines were told to be aggressive on offense and attack the hoop while playing good strong defence by Coach Ireton at the quarter break. The team clearly took this onboard as they lead a 2nd qtr 18-0 rout of the away team. The team continued the 2nd half with great effort and strong team play to bring home a debut victory 12-36. Along with the u12's it was Assistant Coach Phil Smiths' first game who did a very good job of managing players on the bench and helping Coach Ireton with decisions during the game.
